Joanne Kelly is a Canadian actress born in Bay d'Espoir, Newfoundland and Labrador. She grew up on the south central coast of Newfoundland and Labrador but left to attend Acadia University in Nova Scotia at the age of 17. Joanne began acting in 2001, making her debut in the short film Slug. Soon after she guest starred in the television series, Mentors and Tracker. That same year, Jo's first feature film was released - The Bay of Love and Sorrows. Based on the novel by David Adams Richards, Joanne starred as Madonna Eveline Brassaurd, a young woman is eventually led to commit murder from the influence of a charismatic and violent man named Everette Hutch.
Following The Bay of Love and Sorrows, Joanne guest starred in various series such as Mutant X, Slings and Arrows, CSI: Miami, and Castle. Along with being cast as a series regular on Jeremiah and Vanished. And in 2006 Jo was nominated for a Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series for the tv movie Playing House. From 2009 until 2014 she played the role of Secret Service agent Myka Bering on the incredibly popular Syfy series Warehouse 13. Following the end of Warehouse 13, Joanne starred in the independent film, Runoff, for which she received critical acclaim. Most recently, Jo guest starred on the CBS series, Zoo, and is set to star in the CTV mini-series, The Disappearance.
